Global rights management made simple with SIMS

Mequon, WI - April 12, 2010 - StorerTV, a well-established provider of rights management software for scheduling, has expanded their service to include global rights management. With this expansion, the Storer Information Management System (SIMS) can now manage all rights within the same system.

Software brings power and flexibility to rights management

This Web-based tool acts as a bridge between the media library and scheduling functionality. It provides secured access to media in multiple libraries across locations through a simple check-in/check-out procedure. While access is simple, it is also secured. Librarians approve the check-out of assets and the system itself protects against scheduling mistakes.

SIMS has a comprehensive set of tools that handles the entire spectrum of rights management issues:

  • broadcast and non-broadcast content rights
  • production rights
  • distribution rights
  • multi-platform rights (e.g., broadcast, Internet and DVD)
  • territorial rights

One database holds all pertinent information including content metadata and facts regarding production, talent and distribution rights. This approach increases efficiency, eliminates re-keying of data and makes available critical information regarding secondary rights of photos, music, talent, clips and more. Even complex agreements involving content co-produced by multiple companies using many talent sources can be managed within the system.

StorerTV offers rich reporting capabilities for global rights management. In addition to a full range of standard reports, SIMS provides functionality to create an unlimited number of customized reports.

StorerTV will be providing demos of its full line of program management tools at NAB April 12 - 15 in booth N329.
