Peter Storer, Jr.
President and Founder, StorerTV
Peter Storer is an experienced software developer with a family legacy in broadcasting that spans over half a century. Peter is recognized throughout the industry for his knowledge and experience with business software systems, rights management and system integrations. He is active in many industry groups including SMPTE, AMWA, VCF, ATSC, NAB, MFM and NATPE, and was one of the core group leaders that helped develop ATSC's PMCP and SMPTE’s BXF standards.
Prior to forming StorerTV, Peter had graduated from Harvard College with an Economics degree before he went to work for the CBS Network then later for Storer Television Sales, a division of Storer Broadcasting. In 1985 he was transferred to Milwaukee to be National Sales Manager of WITI-TV. Peter’s varied broadcast experience working at a network, a rep firm and a station had afforded him a broad knowledge of broadcast software systems and their growing influence in management and operations. By 1986, he became aware that the scheduling and program management area was vastly underserved. This encouraged Peter to develop his first contract and program management tool, the Program Manager System (PGMS). Since its release in 1987, it and its successor systems have evolved to become the leading solution for broadcasters and cable operators around the world to control and track all of their program acquisition contracts, scheduling, rights and reporting.
